'Prison Break' Star Wentworth Miller Fights Zombies In 'Resident Evil: Afterlife'

'Prison Break' Star Wentworth Miller Fights Zombies In 'Resident Evil: Afterlife'

"Resident Evil: Afterlife," the upcoming fourth installment in the video game-turned-film franchise, is set to lens in Toronto next month with a prison-centric plot -- and luckily for our zombie-fighting heroes, there's one guy coming aboard that's had some experience in the big house.

In an interview with Black Film, actor Boris Kodjoe revealed that he'll star in the upcoming "Resident Evil" film alongside Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter, both of whom return in their roles as Alice and Claire Redfield, respectively. But Kodjoe also threw an entirely new actor in the mix: none other than Wentworth Miller, the star of the recently concluded "Prison Break" television series.

Kodjoe plays the leader of a zombie resistance group fighting to free other survivors from a surrounded prison. According to the actor, Miller's character is -- ironically enough -- one of the imprisoned survivors.

"He's playing a guy that we actually locked up when we took over the jail because we weren't sure if he was one of them or not," Kodjoe said of Miller's role. "He comes into play as we try to find a way to get out with our survivors."

Given director Paul W.S. Anderson's previous comments that characters from the game will appear in "Afterlife," is it possible that Miller could be playing a familiar role? An obvious pick would be Chris Redfield, given Larter's role as sister Claire. The prison scenario also means it's possible that Miller could instead portray Leon Kennedy, a rookie police officer who is thrust into the zombie infestation.

Even though "Prison Break" was pretty ridiculous most of the time, I loved Miller's performance on the show. He'd make for a great Chris Redfield or Leon Kennedy -- heck, even as an original character -- and should be a fun player to watch in the next "Resident Evil" flick.

Are you a fan of Miller's work? Think he'll make a solid addition to the "Resident Evil" universe? Let us know what you think in the comments
