Nzumari Awards chief to be sued

Through his lawyer, Cannibal sent Adhiambo a notice on Wednesday (19.08.09), informing her of his intention to move to court if she fails to honour an agreement to pay up wid the artists

Rapper Cannibal has threatened to sue chief organiser of the recently-held Nzumari Awards over unpaid prize money, deepening the woes facing the coastal event.

Several singers boycotted the awards, held early this month in Mombasa, accusing its organiser Eve Adhiambo of favours, corruption and conspiracy to rewards friends. She has roundly rejected the accusations.

Through his lawyer, Cannibal sent Adhiambo a notice on Wednesday (19.08.09), informing her of his intention to move to court if she fails to honour an agreement to pay up winners.

“Eve should know that I'm professional and I will handle everything professionally. She paid other winners and never gave me my cash token. I have called her several times but she doesn’t answer my calls,” Cannibal told DRUM.

“She has refused dialogue and that's why I have to sort the issue with her in court. Eve should pay all the artistes their money regardless of how little it is,” added the rapper, who has been nominated at this year's Channel O Video Music Awards
