Immigrant petition was filed only for me. However, AoS has been filed for the entire family. So in my opinion the answers to three questions sholuld be 1 - No, 2- No, 3- Yes.- Would that be Correct?
Since the primary applicant of form I-539 is my wife, i wasn't sure if there should be a mention of my immigrant petition when describing the circumstances on a separate sheet of paper. Should I add receipt number of form I-485 or attach a copy of the form as support documents?

SKIL exempts applicants with a masters degree from the US and 3 years experience from the annual quotas. This along with not counting dependents should bring considerable relief to even the folks who are still subject to quota.

If per country limit of 7% stays, how much relief would it bring in terms of
priority dates for India/China born individuals?
I do not think there shall be any significant positive movement in Priority dates. Even if annual numbers go to 290K from 140K and dependents are excluded. It is about 4 times meaning if earlier we had 10K for India including sposes meaning 5K effectively, now it will be appx 20K effectively!
Think of number of applicants from India and China and think of the flood coming when all backlog is cleared! I dont think we should expect big jump in priority dates.
Am I getting too pessimistic?

Here is what I understand, but make sure you seek professional opinion before making any move.
He can simply submit another I-485 as the derivative of your application. Of course that can only happen when your PD becomes current. He does not have to withdraw his own application. If he gets GC as your derivative, his other I-485 will automatically become invalid.
Sending a new 485 as derivative means new fee too. RFE suggests that case is active in some way. Therefore, there is no harm in sending a second letter about the relationship, including marriage certificates etc, with A# and Receipt # references of both (these are the only two references in their system, PD's are only on paper). Best..

I just wanted to get some input from the veterans here who have started a business in partnership while they have been waiting for the coveted green card.
What kind of legal paperwork does it take to start a business? I would think as long as you don't work for the business it should be ok? If you can own part of a corporation (stocks), you can be a partner in a business?
Ideas?
If you are in H1B status, you can start your business by investing, but not working. You can not work for your business to get paid, but you can get profit sharing. In Wisconsin, when you register, you need a President/CEO who can legally work for your business. You can check with your state and register your business there. Probably, you even can register online in some state. Of cause, later on, you will need help from your accountant, laywer, etc.
If you have Green Card or EAD, that is not a problem to run by yourself.

3 deportations at POE (EWR) till date this yr .
only offence was they all working in the midwest (Kansas) and their company was based in nj .. admins can we start tracking deportations and make this as a sticky
