If the ASC does not have much applicants waiting for services then they may service your case regardless of the time scheduled. Just make a visit and try.
I had moved to CA and got FP appointment scheduled for 11/15 at NJ. Last saturday I visited my local ASC and explained about my move. They did not bother about the appointment location & time and took fingerprints.

Yes, you can run a business on EAD.
You can own a business on H1-B too. But you cannot work for it . You can invest and have someone manage the operation for you. you can take profits but not work as an employee.

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to get some input from the veterans here who have started a business in partnership while they have been waiting for the coveted green card.
What kind of legal paperwork does it take to start a business? I would think as long as you don't work for the business it should be ok? If you can own part of a corporation (stocks), you can be a partner in a business?
Ideas?
If you are in H1B status, you can start your business by investing, but not working. You can not work for your business to get paid, but you can get profit sharing. In Wisconsin, when you register, you need a President/CEO who can legally work for your business. You can check with your state and register your business there. Probably, you even can register online in some state. Of cause, later on, you will need help from your accountant, laywer, etc.
If you have Green Card or EAD, that is not a problem to run by yourself.

Dont be concerned. Over documentation is a common phenomenon and most people do it to preempt RFEs and inquiries and I dont think it works that way.
Here is what I posted on a separate thread earlier today. My lawyer too has sent me a very very short list of documents he needs. And although he is a little slow, his performance so far has been flawless ... Knock on wood.
A lot of lawyers try to preempt a possible RFE by including "AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE" documentation. 3 years of tax returns prove nothing more than what 1 year of tax return would prove.
Also, having a tax return of 2004 doesnt prove that you were in status at all times during 2004. Tax return shows total income that includes salary, bonus, deductions etc, and even Einstein cant figure out the immigration status in 2004 and whether the candidate was in good status at all times just by looking at the tax return.
Another example is color copies of visa stamp. What would a color copy prove that a mono-chrome copy would not? Wouldnt USCIS verify the legitimacy of the visa stamp by cross-referencing it with their own database?
Some lawyers send many years' tax returns, thinking that it might pre-empt the RFEs. Some lawyers send only whats neccesary. I've heard that one of the lawyers in New York doesnt even send employer's letter. That means, basically nothing from the employer. And he too gets cases approved.
Overloading the USCIS with a heavy file, sending a ton of things in addition to what they expect, may be a good strategy if you believe that it might thwart a RFE (and the delay caused by RFE). That doesnt mean it works that way. You can still get RFE and additional request for documents later.
However, sending too thick a bunch, would also make your case look like a "difficult" case. (my belief, I dont know but just common sense would indicate that thicker bigger files are complicated cases on first impression). And what that means is that it will get delayed because the CIS ombudsman report has documented that officers tend to work easy cases first (get the low hanging fruit first) and beef up their performance statistics by doing more cases in less time. Therefore, the complicated bigger cases that should be work on first, instead get worked on last. And sending USCIS last 5 years of tax returns might do exactly that. Why drown the officers in paperwork?
So think a little before sending USCIS 20 pounds of paperwork. More paperwork and overwhelming USCIS with documentation may not mean faster RFE-free processing. (Again, my belief - something to ponder about. But do what you think is right and what your lawyer tells you. I am not a lawyer).

No need to worry even if it's warning...
I had a same situation with my wife FP yesterday.
she got warning for 2 fingers........
I asked FP officer why the warnings and does it cause any problems.then
she replied nothing to worry it happens somtimes..
then asked again do we need to comeback again for FP.....
she replied no..not necessary unless and until FBI has any questions...

I would certainly come back to update it... and i am sure there would be more than a few who would do the same.
After all, its a good way to put the fitting GC pain to rest.
How reliable is this Tracker(or any) data? I don't think all the registered people who gets their GC would come back and change the status of their application to 'Approved' in the Tracker. Though its better than nothing but still data is too vague to derive any real conclusion.

I am in the same boat as well. But you answer your question - am almost sure you don't need FP to renew your EAD. Having said that - why would renew your card in June? (Considering that you might not have received your EAD till Aug-Sep'07 of last year).

My first 3 years of H1B visa and I-94 expired on december,31,2009. My employer applied for my H1B renewal and got the approval notice (797A with I-94 part in the bottom valid from 1/1/2010 till end of 2012) expiring in end of 2012. I went to Canada for 4 days and got my 3 year visa extension stamped which is valid till end of 2012 for the same employer. They took off my old I-94 when I left to Canada and did not issue a new I-94 while entering the US. The officer just took a look at the 797 and said that I am good with the bottom part of the 797 itself and did not stamp any expiry date on the bottom part or did not issue a new I-94(white card).He just stamped the entry date and POE name on my passport. I checked with the CBP officer and she said that since the renewed visa and 797 is valid till end of 2012, I can use the bottom part of the 797 as the I-94 and it is valid till end of 2012. Is this correct?

yaja, are you sure that she would not need an EAD? what would be her status? AOS case pending? and what would she need to show the officials as documentation for her status within the country? AOS receipt?

I entered US using AP on this Sunday from Chicago.
AP and passport were enough. They did ask for old H1 stamp which was on my older expired passport. So I will add :
carry older passports if any.
I also carried I-485 notice and EAD but was not asked for it.

I asked a question regarding use of AP and received following response from Embassy of Belgium.
Dear,
As an Indian citizen you do not need a transit visa IF you are only making an airport transit (in other words, if you stay in the airport terminal and you do not have to re-check your luggage in Brussels ). Please contact your airline to make sure your luggage goes directly to your main destination.

Me and my wife are planning to buy a home, we are in 485 stage and both are working and have EAD. Do you think there can be issues for getting a joint loan on EAD ? I still have my H1, but my wife never had an H1 before, so she is working on EAD. Do lenders consider EADs for mortgages ? Did you have any issues with this ?
