i'm not to keen on this whole cloud computing concept that is floating around at the moment. Anyone else have doubts?
"Floting around at the moment?" Forget it, it's come and gone and is here to stay.
Most people don't call it a 'cloud,' but an amazing number of people pretty much just use Facebook as their only photo-storage facility. Forget the fact that many of them become down-rezzed when doing so...and that's before you get into conversations about how safe the data is and how you can access it. Those kind of thoughts don't even enter most people's minds.
I've heard from so many people who have lost entire computer drives and kind of laugh it off 'cause their photos are on Facebook and their music is on their iPod.
You and I may see the downsides to cloud computing compared to what we do now, but for these people a better cloud-computing-workflow from a company like Apple would actually be a huge step UP.

It seems Kobe used to word "******" at a ref. Honestly it seems the "gay community" takes things way out of proportion and needs to relax a little, even if he is a celebrity the gay community needs to chill.
We (the general public) are tightening up the "gay slur" leash a little to tight. I know I use the word ****** or thats gay when I do things, even if I look at a pink motorcycle I'm like that's gay. It has nothing to do with gays in general, so why flip out over it?

We flip out because we're tired of words that are used to describe us also used to describe anything that's seen as bad, weak or negative. If you used that six letter word around me, I'd probably clock you. You wouldn't the N word around a black person, so why do you think it's OK to use the F word?

So violence is an acceptable solution? So I can beat Gay persons up (Don't twist this analogy, I've stated numerous times on this board, I'm all for Gay rights), I just can't, in their opinion, verbally insult them? :rolleyes:

I just got a 2.8 i7 Quad Core iMac, and I wouldn't mind helping out if someone would outline the steps for me. I already installed seti@home, but the application is only using one core, which really bugs me. I wont be able to dedicate my machine 24/7, but on the down time, or when I leave the room I wouldn't mind leaving it on.

basically, there are 2 types of folding clients: a console (terminal) and one that runs in system preferences. most people here run the console client, mainly b/c you have more control.
are you familiar with running things in terminal? if so, all you do is download the client, extract it, move into that folder, and start the script with some options. here would be an example for you:
fah -smp 8 -advmethods -verbosity 9 -local
and you can stop that when you want by typing control+c.

Yes, dressing like a slut is a freedom in the Western World. This however does not mean it is a good idea. A woman who dresses like a slut is advertising that the best thing about them is their body. I don't know about y'all, but I value more than looks so someone who dresses in such bad taste is clearly a thing to avoid.
On the other hand I go out of my way to help women who act and dress well because it is more conductive to business. Ever tried to conduct a business meeting where a woman shows up dress very promiscuously? Seems I'm the only one who can concentrate in those kinds of settings.
There's a time and a place for everything. Eleven is way too young for a girl to be dressing sluttishly. In this case, it's the parents' who need to be taken to task for allowing their daughter to dress and act they way she did.
Whenever women come in with overly exposed cleavage, too short and too tight skirts, it just makes me laugh. Especially when the sit down with that air of seduction. I'm gay so it's really a waste of their time. However, I've often wondered how things would play out if the roles were reversed and men were allowed to wear chest and butt and crotch hugging clothes with bare legs?
Unless a woman's job is to seduce, the workplace should be exactly that, a place for work and clothing should reflect that.
