Last time when I had infopass visit, they just said what I sow in the web and created a SR .

Yes, flight to DC would have been then recovered from USCIS in the lawsuit against them.. :)
We have a few people making their way to USCIS - so we should know in sometime.
Actually when I say a few, there are probably only 3 or 4. Even after working the phones, emails and private messages, we could not get too many DC area members to help out.
If I have one regret for this campaign it is that I should have booked my flight tickets to DC - it would have been just so exciting to have such a good opportunity to voice our issues and concerns.

I think we should start a Employer Hall of shame and nominate employers who are either cheating the employees or the Immigration system.
This will help future employees and the immigration community as whole.
I am not sure if there are any legal implication to starting something on IV on this

First things first - deliver the baby. Take some of the suggestions given here by other members regarding insurance.
Once all this is done sue the hell out of your desi employer. There really isn't anything (I guess) you can do about your client. But you can definitely take your desi employer to court for terminating your employment. These guys deserve to pay a hefty fine and lose their business license!

Came back today on AP. Port EWR. Escorted to secondary inspection. "Purpose of your trip", "Are you working for the petitioning employer" and "Since when you have been working for them" were the questions.
Can you please clarify, what details did you fill in following columns of I-94.

Albeit silly.... I was thinking, Ok... at least now folks here will realize that not in IT but Indians are talented/can shine is many fields and that's the way it is. The reality being there are more talented people in that country who never got chance global recognition (until the ice was broken by the IT industry)... More talented people --> Hence more immigrant (not a rocket science).

Actually the total figure is 3 billion $$; enough to give a massive jolt to the sagging economy.

Hi everyone.
I was part of the San Jose rally .. where there were about 300 odd people.
My neighbors had been to the immigration rally in Washington(flew from San Jose) and they said that there were about 1000 people there.
I have been following the immigration issues for sometime .. and I'm not very convinced that such small numbers can make the difference.
Silicon Valley has maybe a 100,000 Indian engineers or more. Add families .. and a much higher number. Add Chinese and European immigrants .. and you have all of Silicon valley :)
We should hold a huge rally say in the campus of some company like Cisco .. or Google(who are immigrant friendly) on a work day .. say Friday lunch time .. and have everyone attend.
Being in Cisco .. you can pretty much get all their employees to attend... which is substantial.
Also have industry people talking in favor of better immigration policies.
(we could hold it in some other company or a common area .. anything works)
Unless we can have a substantial number of folks say 10,000 or more .. I don't honestly see too much of a point.
Even if IV collects a few million dollars .. and lobbies .. it will never have the impact of 10000 people protesting.
We need to see if we can have similar rallies ever month in major hubs like New York, Washington, Seattle, Houston.
Unless we have s sustained campaign and we have the numbers .. I personally do not see things really changing.

While a federal lawsuit against Arizona's SB1070 now seems imminent, the President must address the underlying issues that led to passage of the Arizona law. We hope the President will squarely address the public's frustration with a lack of workable solutions on immigration. He must place this frustration in context - lack of federal action leads to growing impetus in the states to pass laws, no matter what their cost, simply to try to resolve the impasse. The President should address this frustration, but should also address the undisputed polling that shows that Americans want comprehensive immigration reform. This can be his moment to bring people together by laying out a framework that will actually move Congress to complete workable legislation.
We also hope that the President avoids some of the typical election chatter on immigration, which tends to turn the issue into a political contest of who can talk the toughest. Rarely does the debate move beyond the issue of further fortifying our southern border. While border security is a necessary component of comprehensive immigration reform, we cannot stop there. Real reform must look past campaign politics and find solutions that will allow communities to live and work together without the anger and recriminations that have dominated this issue for years. We hope the President's speech will go beyond issues of border security and discuss with the same enthusiasm strategies to create a 21st century immigration system - a system which invests in ideas and programs that support family and community cohesion, promotes fairness and individual accountability, supports immigrant integration, and helps us attract the best and brightest from around the world.

"Enforcement of our laws is important, but the President must rise above the angry and misguided political rhetoric that creates and then feeds a never-ending appetite for punishment. While a lawsuit by the Department of Justice is a necessary legal step, a lawsuit alone will not end the vacuum created by the lack of workable immigration laws and leadership to make that a reality. Over the last year, the President and his administration have expressed a willingness and desire to pursue a comprehensive reform strategy. Sadly, too few politicians have had the courage to stand with him on this important issue. The true measure of the President's commitment to this issue is whether he will create his own strategy for moving reform forward and whether he will expose those in both parties who refuse to step forward and create a workable, humane immigration policy that will strengthen America."
