All,
The object of this thread is straightforward - it is to understand if you as a donor member will contribute more $ (or start contributing!) if you get more regular information updates (weekly?) from Core? I know there was a funding drive in March which led to us meeting the goal of $10,000 (and then some). However, while there has been a new goal of $10,000 created for April, we have made little progress towards that. As someone who contributed $100 the first time round in March, but haven't yet made a contribution towards the April funding drive, I can admit that one of the primary reasons for this is because there has been very limited information shared since then. While I COMPLETELY trust in the fact that the Core team is making every effort humanly possible to further our cause, I am also a member of the human race that by nature seeks information and looks for leadership to be more sharing about progress. I personally believe transparency is a key enabler not just to gaining participation and building momentum, but also to creating innovative solutions to problems by engaging more individuals in the process (borrowing this "leaf" from President's Obama's playbook will be highly beneficial to our casuse)
Let me clarify this is NOT an indication of lack of trust in Core NOR do I believe that there isn't a sincere effort being put in by a whole bunch of dedicated individuals. However, my suggestion is simply an idea to further the cause - would definitely like to hear how the rest of this immigration community feels!

I am back again. This forum is outstanding when it comes to reliable information....
I work for a reputed US Consulting firm. They under-pay you and make you over work. They market fake resumes in a polished way. YES... IT is TRUE. Don't just blame the desi consultants.
I am on a EAD. I wanted to switch to hourly basis and wanted to see if there are any direct vendors who would be ready to pay better rates. Desi Consulting Co. is out of question. From my experience, Robert Half is bad too. Is there a better way to market yourself..to the employer?
Any help will be appreciated. !!

As long as you dont use your EAD, you can continue working on H1B.
In fact, if it is the same employer as your GC sponsor, you dont have to do anything.
The thing to remember is to extend your H1B if you do a H1B transfer so you dont have any issues at the time of transfer.
All this is assuming that your company policy can handle exceptions to the policy :)

Is it a good idea to contact the Congressman even when 90 days are not over. My EAD expires on 18th September and 90 days will get over on 24th September. I have already put in the expedite request with Texas, but haven't heard since then, whether its approved or not. Please suggest what should I do?

Firstly I am not from India where most of your guys come from. Instead from Taiwan 2 and half year ago. As travelled much between Asia countrys, no much time staying is US office although I based here. Yes, my English is poor and broken but this is not a fake story, make no sense for me. Just kill the time???
When cops knock out your room, handcuff your hands on the back, force you stay down at the corner , if you could keep calm and state very clearly. I can only show my respect but unfortunately I did not make it. This is my first time. :( Should be the last time either.
Now the negative point is mostly from my statement, no matter whether you believe, the attorney told me drag with anger is battery. we think that's okay does not mean it is okay on the law. So I wish you guys be careful on this kind of play around to avoid any trouble. I knew you all have better english than me. so you could explain clearly :) But Same level, do it on your spouse is even worse on a stranger.
I create this thread just wish listen your opinion and try public view how much chance I can win the jury trail. Some of your advice is really helpful and I will take them.

Once in Japan, I crossed rails to go to next platform and caught by police for doing so. I explained them my childhood, when every day I used to do so in small town and it was OK there. Police told me that they understand me, and asked me not to repeat again there.
My son asked for Samurai. On airport, the moment police saw it, they snatched it from me. They kept it under their possession and handed over to airlines to give me back at destination.
I feel that police and people are considerate to situation.
So, based on my experience of sevaral such things happening due to ignorance and past habits:
.... Use translater and explain in native language (You can say that you know technical language to work in office, but don't know day-to-day language. You don't know difference between drag, pull, take along, etc).
.... If you have any cultural example, explaining up to what level it is acceptable in your society.
You must understand that under law of land, the way happening has been explained to police is serious offence. So work around explanation based on language gap, cultural gap, traditions gaps, etc. to minimize its impact. Show your preparedness to accept bridging of gaps to meet the law of land.

Thanks ilikekilo for the information. My husband medical coverage will start on the same day of his joining date. There is no waiting period. We need to find out what kind of healthcare plan they are providing and check whether my hospital and OB is under there network.

Created an SR request : ~ September 20, just got standard email saying Intial Review is still in progress.
We have an Info-pass appointment tomorrow. We chose the 45 day not response option. Not sure if that is ok when we get there.
Is there anything else I need to know before I meet a rep during the Infopass appointment.
We plan to take all relevant documents, along with a copy of email from a conference in Canada where my wife is invited.
Any input will be great.

You can't generalize. If your kids are smart they can get into better colleges like IITs etc. I think you are confusing the issue about adaptability with good future prospects.
Wait a second. If you are not adaptable to the new environment, it becomes a rat race.If the situation is not conducive, your smartness aint gonna help. I think thats what the OP clearly meant. Its not easy for a kid who is in 8th grade in US to snugly fit into Indian System. Coming to the IIT's, Have you ever compared the total number of seats available in IIT's to the accepted numbers from IVY leagues and other big schools. In India, you have to be the best among the best to get into IIT's. You have to be best here and oh yeah.. You dont have to lose some of the smartness to reservations. But I agree with you that parents should let children pursue their own interests rather than thinking about him/her being a doc/eng.

Having studied in every single indian board system, state, cbse and icse along with primary education the london board (o/a level), I have some experience with regards to adaptability-> It sucks. I have a abcd friend who moved from US to india while in the 6th grade and she regrets those two years of her life. If our parents stay in US, US economy will improved. We will be buying health insurance and food for them.
We will stop sending money to our native country. All money we earned will be spend here. We will be travelling more. Shopping more. etc.
This will help to improve US economy. I want to see US become super country like how it was when Bill Clinton was president.
We have a great present now. I was impressed by his speech about family value and raising kids together as family. I am sure, we will get help from him.
You know, How J2 visa holder got permission to work in US. A person fight for it and got it for many.

I will be on EAD for the new job..and the LOA is vacation without pay. My salary is already 30% more than the one mentioned in labor but no promotions..new job has actually lower salary and job description similar.
If i do ger rfe for evl with me in new job then I hope salary doesnot become an issue
